College Intern

  2026-03-31     TASI Bank     San Francisco,CA
Description:

Intern

Summer interns will typically be employed for an eight-to-twelve-week period between May and August. During that time, interns will work on projects that support one or more departments at TASI Bank. These projects, while necessary, are often deprioritized due to the bank's more urgent needs. Examples include document scanning, data entry, and research projects. An ideal candidate will be able to acclimate to the environment and its systems within two weeks so they can contribute directly to the project during their remaining time.

Obstacles Describe the challenges that the candidate will likely deal with:

  • Adapting to an office environment: This may be the first office job for some interns. They will need to adjust to an office work setting, including appropriate dress, behavior, and work pace. If unsure, interns should ask a supervisor or manager.
  • Understanding regulatory compliance: Interns must navigate the compliance requirements of a regulated company. They will need to successfully complete the bank's online compliance and information security courses during their first week.
  • Learning banking terminology: Banks have their own vocabulary, often filled with acronyms. Understanding these terms and how they fit into the work environment may be confusing. If unsure, interns should ask their supervisor or manager.
  • Time management: Depending on current priorities, interns may be asked to support multiple projects. They need to be able to transition seamlessly from one task to another.

Actions What actions will need to be taken to accomplish the goal or solve the problem?

  • Adapt quickly from one project to the next and manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Use common sense. If unsure about a process, ask a supervisor or manager. Follow the adage: measure twice, cut once.
  • Act professionally. Interns will be working in an office surrounded by professionals striving for operational excellence. They are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

Results What are the measurable/quantifiable results required? What results define success?

TASI Bank uses the internship process to scout potential candidates for full-time employment upon graduation. This experience allows both the bank and the intern to "test drive" each other to assess a potential long-term fit. If there is a mutual fit, we hope to continue the relationship. If not, we wish each other the best and move forward.
