The Role

We're seeking an Order Management Specialist to own and manage the full purchase order (PO) lifecycle for our hardware products. This role serves as the central point of accountability for all open orders across our supplier and retail network, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and timely closure of POs.

This is a highly hands-on role where you'll translate SKU-level cost and forecast data into purchase orders, manage in-quarter adjustments, and maintain a clear view of inventory positioning and vendor performance. You'll also oversee our retail PO portfolioensuring appropriate inventory levels relative to demand and tracking retailer-owned inventory prior to PO approval.

A key initial priority will be cleaning up the existing backlog of open POs to release committed funds. You'll be part of the SDM team, which owns the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and is driving PO automation. In this role, you'll help define requirements and support the transition from manual PO processes to automated, weekly PO generation.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end purchase order management across suppliers and retail channels
  • Convert SKU-level cost and forecast data into accurate purchase orders aligned with the MPS
  • Manage mid-quarter PO adjustments based on shifting forecasts and demand
  • Review and track retailer-submitted POs; partner with supply planning to recommend approvals based on inventory positions
  • Audit and resolve open POs (including backlog from prior years) and establish processes to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain a centralized view of open orders, inventory levels, and supplier commitments
  • Identify and escalate risks, including excess inventory, outdated POs, and forecast misalignment
  • Collaborate with Business Systems and SDM teams to support PO automation initiatives (transition to weekly automated POs)
  • Identify manual workflows and drive process improvements through systemization
  • Contribute to ERP enhancements, including reporting automation and access provisioning

What You Bring

  • 35 years of experience in order management, procurement operations, or supply chain planning
  • Hands-on experience managing purchase orders in an ERP system (Oracle preferred; SAP or similar acceptable)
  • Strong understanding of the full PO lifecycle: creation, modification, receipt, closure, and reconciliation
  • Ability to interpret forecast data and translate demand signals into actionable orders
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage a large volume of SKUs and suppliers
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on order tracking and reconciliation
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, and operations teams
