Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Docket Clerk to support its litigation practice by managing docketing, electronic filings, and related administrative functions. This role provides critical operational support to the Managing Attorney's Office and works closely with attorneys, management, and staff across the firm.

The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. The Senior Docket Clerk frequently serves as a key point of contact within the firm, requiring a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Record litigation filings and case activity in the firm's docketing system and assist with calculating procedural deadlines under supervision.

  • Provide electronic filing support through federal systems (PACER/CM/ECF) and other court or agency e-filing platforms.

  • Assist with maintaining the firm's litigation docket and ensuring accuracy of calendared deadlines.

  • Provide administrative support to the Managing Attorney's Office and docketing leadership.

  • Prepare, generate, and proofread internal communications, documents, forms, and reports.

  • Create and maintain department files, databases, and shared resources.

  • Perform data entry and coordinate with firm personnel to ensure accuracy of case and docket information.

  • Prepare invoices for submission to Finance and maintain related records.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental policies and procedural documentation.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.

  • Experience with docketing or calendaring systems (such as Milana, eDockets, CompuLaw, or MA3000) preferred.

  • Experience with electronic court filing systems, including Federal CM/ECF or California State Courts, strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience working with databases and maintaining data accuracy.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and providing exceptional client service.

  • Flexibility to work evening or additional hours when necessary.
