Position Overview:

Performs routine patient care, support, and services in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. Exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to support the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department. Assists nursing personnel and physicians in providing emergency care services. Observes, identifies and reports client's needs to nurses. ***EMT Preferred***Ashby Campus 6p/7p eve flex***

EDUCATION

  • HS Diploma or general education degree (GED).

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician Level I

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider


EXPERIENCE

  • One year related experience in an acute emergency department.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge and ability to apply sterile technique

  • Knowledge of emergency care techniques and procedures to provide quality care to clients

  • Ability to assist with casting and splinting

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrates ability to set priorities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, physicians and the general public.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay Range is $36.84 to $45.25 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
