About The Role

RBD is seeking a dedicated Expeditor to join our Operations team. As an Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our design teams with overseeing the fulfillment, tracking, and delivery of furnishings, materials, and accessories for client projects, from purchase to warehouse delivery, to client installation. You will work closely with our design teams, warehouse partners, and vendors to facilitate efficient operations and meet project delivery timelines. The ideal candidate will be proactive & detail-oriented, with strong communication skills. A love of collaborative teamwork in a fast paced environment, and a team player mentality no task is too big or too small is a must.

Responsibilities

Track & manage all project purchases, from purchase to delivery to client installation

Communicate updates to design teams regarding order status & arrival dates

Proactively resolve issues such as delays, backorders, and discrepancies

Build & foster relationships with vendors to ensure open & timely communication on product updates, shipping changes, and/or custom orders

Schedule & coordinate deliveries among vendors, warehouses, and installers, ensuring items arrive onsite in a timely manner, in alignment with design team & project schedules

Inspect item arrivals for damage and/or inaccuracies; coordinate repairs or replacements as needed; ensure items meet quality standards & align with design intent

Assist design teams in planning installation days, including confirmation of all inventory received and accounted for, and delivery coordination with warehouses & installers

Maintain accurate shipping & delivery records in Studio Designer & internal systems

Requirements

Basic understanding of interior design principles, materials, finishes, and furnishings

Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Detail-oriented with a proactive and collaborative approach to work

Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and ability to learn procurement software

Minimum of 4 days in San Francisco office per week

A love for interior design, the design process, organization & client services

Additional Skills

Accounting experience: Basic knowledge or experience in accounting principles, such as invoicing, budgeting, and expense tracking would be advantageous for assisting in design operations

Familiarity with Studio Designer a plus
