Part Time Checker

Piazza's Fine Foods, an upscale, family-owned grocery store, is seeking part time checkers for our grocery department.

Example of duties:

• The checker will operate the cash register and check stand to provide the store's customers with the most accurate and efficient checkout service possible, and to perform stocking and other duties, as assigned.
• A working knowledge of the checker function is a plus! Add up or record the purchases of a customer into a cash register efficiently and accurately.
• Assist in training new checkers as needed.
• Stock shelves, which may include facing products and putting out new products.
• Learn and memorize various store codes (produce, deli, etc.) and keep up to date on new products as they come in. Award-winning customer service
• Cleaning bathrooms and taking out trash

Requirements, skills, and experience:

• Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Understand and follow directions in oral, written, or diagram form.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; stand, bend, reach, twist, and turn for up to 4 hours continuously
• Must have full availability to work on weekends and holidays
• Availability on the weekends is required for this opening.
