Your Day at Lowe's

In your role as a Customer Service Associate, you will warmly welcome customers to Lowe's and assist them in selecting the right products and services for their home improvement needs. Your interactions with customers will be crucial as you help them navigate the store, find merchandise, and ensure their shopping experience is satisfactory.

Although much of your time will be dedicated to listening to customers, answering their questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily tasks may differ by department.

Customer Service Associates operate in various departments tailored to hiring needs and skills: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they enter Lowe's, respond to inquiries, and provide friendly, professional service.

  • Assist customers with locating and managing merchandise.

  • Replenish stock by identifying empty shelf areas and supplying necessary items.

  • Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure timely receipt of merchandise.

  • Cross-train in various store areas to enhance customer service.

  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint paint, cut pipes, or bundle materials).

  • Guide customers through shopping and checkout experiences.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience using a computer for information management.

  • 6 months of experience with retail technology, including smartphones and tablets.

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.

  • Willingness to engage in tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and related activities.

  • Capacity to lift 25 lbs unassisted; over 25 lbs with assistance or accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.

  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.

  • Certification in a trade related to your department (e.g., plumbing, electrical, hardware).

Travel Requirements

This position typically does not require regular travel; however, there may be occasional travel for meetings, training, or to assist nearby stores.

Working Conditions

The working environment varies by location, including exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions. You may experience different climates and potential noise from equipment. Proper lifting methods and equipment training will be provided.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $21.85 per hour. Starting pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
