Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This role involves shaping the future of robotics through innovative applications of deep learning and large language models, and leading the research and development of sensing systems that enable robots to perceive their surroundings.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead teams focused on hardware, firmware, and embedded systems
  • Drive technical roadmaps for next-generation robotics platforms
  • Drive architecture decisions for complex robotics perception systems
  • Bring the latest trends and scientific developments in robotic perception to the technical team
  • Create technical standards for robotics sensing platforms
  • Drive innovation in real-time perception and control systems

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related fields
  • 10+ years experience in sensing and perception research
  • 5+ years technical leadership in perception systems and learning
  • Strong background in real-time multimodal sensing
  • Proven track record in robotics computing platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics perception-driven control systems and sensor integration
  • Background in real-time operating systems and deterministic computing
  • Experience developing complex perception-driven robotic architectures
  • Track record of innovation in robotics sensing platforms
  • Experience with safety applications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
