About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results‑oriented Senior Engineering Manager, Apple to lead our Apple UI development team. This role is pivotal in driving the technical vision, roadmap, and delivery of our Apple applications. You will lead a talented group of engineers and work cross‑functionally with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to create seamless user experiences.

As the Senior Engineering Manager, Apple you will mentor, inspire, and grow the team while ensuring that we deliver high‑quality, performant, and scalable applications that meet our users' needs and business goals. You will have ownership over the development process, team performance, and be a key contributor to strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Run the daily operations of the engineering team and help manage scrum ceremonies such as grooming, sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure the adoption of best practices, architectural standards, and scalability, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Work with product and leadership to define and execute the development roadmap for aligning with our goals and customer needs.
  • Work with team members to understand requirements, gather feedback, and communicate project progress and status updates.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Monitor team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct regular one‑to‑one meetings with team members to provide feedback, support their career development, and manage team performance.
  • Lead operational excellence by managing system outages, conducting root‑cause analyses, and driving operational performance improvement.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding processes to attract top talent and build a skilled engineering team.

You will report to the Director of Engineering, Apple and Android. Location: San Francisco, CA or Los Angeles, CA. We work a hybrid schedule in‑office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience building native applications for iOS.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams, with at least 8+ years of direct people‑management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of architecture and design patterns for building reliable, secure applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Swift, and experience with modern iOS frameworks and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a keen attention to foresee long‑term product goals and define a roadmap.

Pay Transparency – Los Angeles, CA: $212,000—$265,000 USD

Pay Transparency – San Francisco, CA: $235,000—$294,000 USD
