Medical Assistant – Patient Care & Surgical Coordination

Location: San Francisco Bay Area Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $29–$33 per hour, DOE

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with strong patient communication and organizational skills to join our San Francisco–area medical practice. This role has a heavy administrative and patient-coordination focus, with clinical duties as needed.

Requirements

· Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience

· Fluent in Spanish

· Excellent communication skills; patient-centered and professional

· Strong organizational and documentation skills

· Comfortable working with EMRs

· Ability to manage multiple patients and deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as the primary point of contact for patients throughout the surgical process

· Communicate with patients, surgeons, schedulers, hospitals, and surgery centers

· Educate patients on pre-operative requirements and available resources

· Ensure completion of labs, imaging, medical clearances, and documentation

· Prepare and submit materials for insurance prior authorizations

· Document all patient communication accurately in the EMR

Clinical Duties Include

· Prepare and clean treatment rooms

· Obtain medical histories, vitals, and routine screenings

· Remove sutures, and change dressings

· Assist the physician during examinations

· Maintain and sterilize equipment and supplies
