Ray Therapeutics mission is to restore vision to people with retinal degenerations. RayTx is using a novel bioengineered optogenetic protein optimized for human vision delivered by AAV to restore visual function in a mutation agnostic approach and without the need for light enhancing eyewear. Thecompany is developing its lead candidate RTx-015 in retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative retinal disease with significant unmet medical need as well as a pipeline to treat both rare and large market indications.

We are currently seeking an exceptional leader as Associate Director, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) to join our team in the mission to restore vision to patients. The Associate Director, MS&T will work closely with and report to our VP, CMC in all aspects of manufacturing from early phase through late phase/commercial manufacturing. The position requires hands on AAV manufacturing experience with the ability to be a team player both internally as well as with our external partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build internal manufacturing tracking and trending system including in-process and release testing results as well as manufacturing process parameters and raw materials.
• Collaborate with internal CMC team (Product Management and Analytics) and external vendors to obtain information for tracking and trending information.
• Present quarterly summary report for CMC Leadership and external vendors on trending and statistical analyses.
• Provide technical and process engineering input into RayTx's CMC product lifecycle strategies including early phase, late phase and commercial development, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Proactively outline risk and mitigations and communicate all to internal team.
• In collaboration with CMC Leadership, provide regular updates to leadership team on progress, data, risks, and forecasting of future CMC project needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• 10+ years relevant biotech experience.
• Hands on experience in AAV gene therapy manufacturing required.
• Knowledge of AAV analytical methods and testing.
• 5+ years of experience working with JMP, Minitab or other statistical software for biological product manufacturing and testing.
• Experience with manufacturing tracking and trending or statistical process control.
• Knowledge of AI or software that can extract data from PDFs into tracking and trending database.
• Excellent scientific knowledge and acumen.
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Compensation Range and Benefits:

• For this role, the anticipated base salary range: $170,000 to $190,000, based on the candidate's professional experience level. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
