Service Technician I Dedicated

This position is 100% onsite in Berkeley, California.

The Service Technician I Dedicated is responsible for providing basic technical support for the telecommunications systems through the assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of the telecommunications systems, including its equipment and peripherals.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Installs various types of low-voltage communications cable and wire, testing to ensure installation meets minimum transmission line standards and characteristics
• Installs and tests telecommunications terminal equipment and peripherals
• Responds to service requests as required
• Performs Move, Add and Change activities as required
• Participates in new installation and major upgrade activities
• Interprets and uses worksheets, service orders, blueprints and other documentation to ensure proper installation of products
• Prepares and maintains installation records and documentation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from clients
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to work long, irregular hours, and be able to return to work on an on-call basis

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); some college and telephony courses
• Experience installing telecommunications equipment

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00/hour

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors.
