Job Title: Research Associate II - Functional Genomics
Location: On-site, South San Francisco, CA

A leading research organization is seeking a Research Technician II to support cutting-edge functional genomics projects focused on large-scale, high-throughput DNA cis-regulatory element screening. This lab-based role involves executing advanced molecular biology and high-content screening experiments and contributing to dataset generation for machine learning applications.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex molecular and cellular biology experiments in functional genomics
Support massively parallel reporter assay (MPRA) screens across multiple cell types
Conduct custom DNA/RNA amplicon preparation and sequencing workflows
Execute molecular biology techniques including molecular cloning, qPCR, and flow cytometry
Maintain and work with primary cell cultures , with preference for iPSC and/or T cell culture experience
Assist in experimental design, data interpretation, and results communication
Contribute to development and optimization of genomics screening technologies
Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
2-5 years of relevant laboratory experience
Strong experimental design and data analysis skills
Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Technical Experience
MPRA or other pooled genetic screening approaches
Viral vector systems (e.g., lentivirus)
NGS library preparation and design
Single-cell genomics methods such as scRNA-seq or scMPRA
