Position Summary

As an Adaptive Skills Tutor, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build independence, self-advocacy, and adaptive life skills. You'll work with clients in both home and community settings, helping them develop skills for daily living, employment readiness, and personal growth. This is not a traditional 9-to-5 position. Shifts vary depending on client schedules and needs and may include daytime, evening, or weekend hours. The right candidate will be flexible, reliable, and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one adaptive skills support and behavior intervention in home and community settings.
• Collaborate with the treatment team, caregivers, and clinical supervisors to implement individualized goals.
• Teach and model behavioral, social, and daily living skills to foster independence.
• Assist clients with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community participation.
• Support clients in vocational, volunteer, and recreational activities that align with their personal interests.
• Document sessions accurately and communicate progress to the clinical team.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
• Transport clients safely using a personal vehicle when needed.

• Bachelor's degreeBachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related human services field.
• RBT certification preferred; must be willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, auto insurance, and be comfortable driving clients.
• Willing and able to travel up to 50 miles from home or assigned location.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks, CPR certification, and trainings.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
