The Project Coordinator will work on three NIH-funded studies based at DPS, Mission Hall, 550 16th Street, San Francisco. Project 1: Adapting an effective intervention for enhancing engagement in HIV care to meet the needs of key populations in India. Key populations are more likely to be infected with HIV, but less likely to be virally suppressed than members of the general population living with HIV and research shows that this is at least partly due to the multiple stigmas that act as barriers to engagement in care. This 3-year study seeks to address this problem by adapting and pilot testing, via a randomized controlled pilot trial, a culturally appropriate, comprehensive wellness program that incorporates peer navigation, to improve engagement in HIV care among men who have sex with men and transgender women in India.
