Medication Technician

$25.19 Hourly rate + $.90/hr shift differential!

Full-Time: 40 hours / 5 days

8 hours per day, requires one weekend shift

Shift: PM: 3 PM - 11:30 PM

What you'll do as a Medication Technician:

The Medication Technician is part of the Health & Wellness department, and proves general support to the care team.

• Maintain resident charts. Keeps documentation current for example community forms, licensing documentation, physician order, and incident reports.
• Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders (written/telephone), and change orders. Oversee community absence medication program.
• Communicates resident status changes to LVN Supervisor, Director of Health & Wellness, and/or Administrator.
• Ensure the medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over-the-counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician.
• Monitor psychotropic medication use is consistent with physician orders, observing whether resident behaviors warrant the use of medication.

For you to be a successful Medication Technician:

• Successful completion of Med Tech training program preferred
• CPR Certified preferred
• Minimum of six months experience in long-term care, home care, or a related field
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions in English and perform simple arithmetic.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office or willingness to learn within 90 days of employment for maintaining proper documentation of care provided during shift.
