Position Overview

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy team members in delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Utilize pharmacy systems to gather patient and medication information and effectively process prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Welcome and assist customers and patients with inquiries regarding products and services, resolving issues to enhance their experience.
  • Promote and share customer service excellence among team members, emphasizing interpersonal skills such as greetings, eye contact, and courtesy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Operations

  • Learn from pharmacy and store team members as well as field leadership to enhance personal and professional development.
  • Work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to support pharmacy practice in compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with standard operating procedures for prescription processing.
  • Assist in delivering patient care and health services within the state's scope of practice for pharmacy interns, including patient counseling.
  • Report any prescription errors to the supervising pharmacist immediately, adhering to quality improvement standards.
  • Follow company policies regarding cash handling and registration for sales transactions.
  • Answer phone inquiries regarding prescriptions that don't require pharmacist input.
  • Support inventory management, including ordering and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment in the pharmacy department.
  • Uphold respectful relationships with coworkers and adhere to all company policies.
  • Complete additional tasks and special assignments as needed.

Training and Personal Development

  • Engage in required training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.
  • Stay informed about developments in pharmacy practice and healthcare trends.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Flexible availability, capable of working evenings and weekends.
