World Builder Intern

Role Overview:

We're looking for a passionate artist who lives and breathes the creation of rich immersive 3D worlds. You are an expert in both 3D and 2D design, never satisfied with the tools at hand, and are able to describe how to build better ones. In this role you'll be using our products everyday to create 3D worlds, working with users, generating feedback and evaluations for researchers, and developing prototypes with the product team. You'll also collaborate closely with our marketing team to share your work and communicate what our tools enable. All in all, you're deeply excited and involved in state-of-the-art generative tools and the future of creative technology.

What You Will Do:

1. Use your creative skill as a World Builder to develop 3D environments with internal and external tools.
2. Create sample projects and marketing materials from the 3D worlds you develop.
3. Identify and help develop integrations between our product and external applications (game engines and 3D authoring tools).
4. Participate in all phases of product development, from prototyping, working directly with early testers and design partners to solicit feedback.
5. Documenting model outputs and creating evaluations for the model research team.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong track record of independently developing beautiful realtime or pre-rendered 3D environments in Blender, Unreal, or Unity.
• Fiercely independent and self-reliant, a problem solver that cares about the process as much as the finished product, and can communicate these needs well.
• Have work experience in video games, VFX, CGI animation or comparable roles with proven ability to operate effectively in a professional studio setting.
• Portfolio that demonstrates understanding of a wide range of experience in 2D and 3D workflows with strong aesthetic consistency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of product development, bonus if you have developed creative tools or scripts.
• Experience and strong curiosity of generative AI tools.
• Will go above and beyond being simply a user, willing to jump in and become a technical artist and collaborate on integrations and product features.
