Department Overview

The Procurement Organization consists of over three hundred dedicated sourcing managers, buyers, and analysts. Our mission is to deliver cost-effective and valued procurement services through innovative, diverse, and sustainable business solutions. We work closely with all lines of business, finance, and our suppliers to accomplish our goals.

The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) plays a pivotal role in driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation organization-wide. We establish best practices, standardize processes, and leverage advanced analytics and market intelligence to facilitate informed decision-making. Our focus includes market intelligence, digital procurement transformation, risk management, supplier relationship management, governance, and capability enhancement.

Position Summary

As a Senior Procurement Analyst, you will conduct research, data analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support business strategy and operations. You will also engage in business process improvements and quality control initiatives. Your role will include developing, managing, and coordinating performance and quality assessments, business process re-engineering, change management, communication, and training efforts.

All employees are expected to perform their roles in alignment with PG&E's vision and values.

This position allows for hybrid work, combining remote and Oakland office responsibilities.

Salary Information

PG&E offers a competitive salary range for this position, which is specific to the job's locality. The expected salary range for this role is $102,000 to $139,000, with actual compensation influenced by factors such as internal equity, specific skills, education, experience, and market conditions.

Reporting Structure

The Senior Procurement Analyst will report directly to the Procurement Analytics Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate and present recommendations and findings to both internal and external stakeholders, including functional management.
  • Create and modify data analyses to forecast business outcomes using complex variables.
  • Investigate potential solutions to various problems, troubleshoot issues, and provide insights and recommendations for both internal clients and external partners.
  • Conduct analysis, benchmarking studies, spend analysis, and needs assessments to aid in portfolio and category strategy development.
  • Lead the process for gathering requirements, developing, implementing, and managing dashboards for successful visual management.
  • Act as a bridge between Procurement and other departments including finance and business units to support analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and data requests.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Advanced MS Excel, MS Access, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, SharePoint Online, and SQL.

Background Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Sociology, Policy, Engineering, or Physics, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of four years of job-related experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical skills, particularly in advanced data tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, SharePoint Online, and SQL.
  • Experience handling large datasets.
  • A minimum of six years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in Procurement and Sourcing (3-4 years preferred).
  • CPSM certification.
  • LSS certification.
