Position Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs electronic systems aboard commercial vessels, fishing boats, and yachts. Working with limited supervision, technicians troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving navigation, communication, and control systems.
Technicians apply knowledge of electronic theory, circuitry, and diagnostic procedures to test and repair onboard equipment. Responsibilities also include configuring and updating system software, interpreting technical documentation, and preparing detailed service reports following completion of service work.
Key Responsibilities
??Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine electronic systems on commercial vessels and yachts.
??Test, adjust, and calibrate electronic components, antennas, and integrated systems.
??Load, update, and modify system software as required for equipment functionality and compliance.
??Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
??Interpret complex electronic diagrams and service documentation to complete repairs accurately.
??Document service activities and produce detailed service reports following each assignment.
??Travel to vessels and work in marine environments including docks, shipyards, and onboard ships.

Qualifications
??3+ years of experience as a Marine Electronics Technician (MET), Marine Service Technician (MST), or Electronics Technician (ET).
??Experience may be gained in commercial maritime environments or military service (U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, or Marine Corps).
??Associate?s degree in electronics or equivalent technical training, certifications, and hands-on experience.
??Strong knowledge of electronic theory, troubleshooting, and circuit diagnostics.
??Preferred certifications (or willingness to obtain after hire): FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License with Radar Endorsement; GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License
Physical Requirements
??Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
??Comfortable climbing ladders and masts and working at heights.
??Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
