GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Inventory Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that our customers enjoy a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, treating fellow associates with respect, effectively following company standards, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and ensuring that merchandise is presented attractively. You will engage in various tasks throughout the store based on business needs and may be asked to take on additional tasks to help meet customer service and operational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors in all tasks.
  • Maintain a mindful watch on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment; remove clutter for clear access to emergency exits and promptly report any hazards.
  • Treat all customers and colleagues with kindness and respect; maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Assist customers by being knowledgeable about merchandise, answering questions, and providing service with a smile.
  • Handle customer service inquiries efficiently and courteously; involve store leadership when needed.
  • Represent the company brand positively at all times.
  • Keep work areas pristine by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, and organizing merchandise.
  • Consistently present merchandise according to company standards, ensuring the store is neat and organized.
  • Process new merchandise swiftly and merchandize it according to best practices.
  • Understand and apply Loss Prevention procedures to protect merchandise and minimize loss.
  • Safeguard company information, uphold integrity, and handle transactions with care.
  • Be diligent in recognizing and processing Mark-Out-of-Stock items.
  • Remain aware and accurate while handling cash, checks, and charge card transactions.
  • Work efficiently, maximizing productivity by executing store best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and store leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.

Basic math skills necessary for retail tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

  • Capable of using all store equipment, including registers and handheld devices.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing and moving around the store.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of more than 25 pounds.
  • Utilization of janitorial tools, rolling racks, and ladders as needed.
  • Stockroom positions may require lifting more than 20 pounds regularly.

The base pay range for this role is $16.90 - $17.40, determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This pay range is part of the total compensation package, which may include additional rewards based on position and location.
