Construction Cost Analyst Intern Summer 2026

At AtkinsRalis, we are seeking a Construction Cost Analyst Intern Summer 2026 to join our San Francisco, CA office.

Your Role

The intern will:

  • Gather and analyze all cost information and input new projects into the database.
  • Prepare benchmarking analysis to give an early estimate to the client.
  • Develop and maintain a historic cost database.
  • Establish a network of office contacts that can provide details of bid projects monthly.
  • Design cost models to display well-presented breakdowns of cost information and data.
  • Develop parametric cost models to investigate different cost scenarios as size, shape, and function of a building/building element changes.
  • Support the update of a series of cost and location indices that will automatically update historic cost information to current date and location.
  • Prepare occasional bespoke client reports upon request varying topics.
  • May prepare regular articles of interest in connection with costs within the construction industry e.g., cost of LEED certification, including articles for publications.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • No experience required.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a relevant Bachelor's degree or be enrolled in a relevant Master's program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Solid understanding of Excel.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI.
  • Interest or background in construction management or civil engineering.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity.
  • Python and SQL Databases (would be a plus).

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
