Wire Harness Technician – Harness Builds
Location: Berkeley, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (±1 hour flexibility)
Pay Range: $46–$52/hr (depending on experience)
About the Role
Aerotek is seeking an Engineering Technician, Harness Builds to support a leading client's Prototype & Build team. This hands‑on role is critical to the development, testing, and validation of next‑generation energy storage products. You will build prototype electrical harnesses and support first‑of‑a‑kind testing that drives core technology development.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, thrives in a lab environment, and brings strong experience in harness fabrication, electrical wiring, and control panel assembly.
What You'll Do
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
Fabricate complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies for prototypes, test fixtures, and system integration
Assemble and wire industrial control panels in accordance with UL508A standards
Perform crimping, routing, labeling, and continuity verification
Support prototype bring‑up and troubleshooting alongside electrical engineers
Build and maintain electrical test fixtures, load boxes, wiring assemblies, and custom hardware
Install instrumentation, sensors, power supplies, DAQ systems, and safety interlocks
Support test and product engineers in setting up and executing electrical tests
What You'll Bring
3+ years of hands‑on experience as an engineering technician, electrical technician, wire harness fabricator, or similar role
Strong proficiency in electrical wiring, cable harness fabrication, and panel assembly
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and mechanical drawings
Familiarity with standard electrical tools and test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
Experience with industrial control panels or UL508A‑compliant builds
Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and pride in producing high‑quality work
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
Proactive problem‑solver who can work independently or collaboratively
Safety‑minded, organized, and committed to continuous improvement

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berkeley, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $52.00/hr.
