Construction Project Supervisor

Description:

The Construction Project Supervisor provides essential leadership in managing construction processes, ensuring timely and budget-effective project execution. This role includes direct oversight of project teams, subcontractors, and coordination with clients and design teams. The Supervisor is key in maintaining safety standards, enforcing quality control, and nurturing client relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety

  • Enforce comprehensive safety programs in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Implement and uphold a tailored safety orientation for all personnel.
  • Promptly address any safety issues that arise.
  • Maintain certifications for First Aid, CPR, and OSHA.

Technical Knowledge

  • Collaborate with Project Managers on new project pursuits, logistical planning, and budgeting.
  • Work on daily construction activities within operational settings.
  • Participate in budget reviews and project status updates.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of scope and submissions prior to approvals.
  • Ensure materials meet project specifications and timelines.

Quality of Work

  • Lead the implementation of quality management systems and compliance checks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all subcontractors meet quality and schedule requirements.

Commitment

  • Exhibit excellence in service and build strong relationships within the organization.
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts for future talent.

  • Promote a collaborative environment with stakeholders to enhance communication.

  • Maintain clear communication with all project team members and stakeholders.

  • Assist in developing coordinated Requests for Information (RFI) that address design concerns.

Planning & Organization

  • Manage job site logistics for productivity and safety.
  • Organize field office and project documents efficiently.

Timeliness

  • Ensure project milestones are met through effective scheduling.
  • Participate in project start-up and closeout processes.

Management & Leadership

  • Establish a leadership presence and mentor field operations staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster technical development.

Physical Job Demands

This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and operating office equipment while maintaining high levels of concentration in a dynamic environment.

Working Conditions

Some travel may be required for company events or conferences. The work environment may vary in noise levels and exposure to construction site conditions. Safety precautions and resources will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience in construction.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant project management software.
  • Mandatory First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
