Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in Martinez, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing billing functions for commercial projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements. This opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with a leading company in the electrical construction industry, delivering quality service and fostering growth.Responsibilities:- Prepare and organize billing packages, including labor reports, material invoices, and subcontractor documentation.- Ensure adherence to client billing guidelines by reviewing and validating all project invoices.- Generate, verify, and submit accurate invoices that align with company and client standards.- Monitor and verify electronic time reports weekly to maintain billing and payroll accuracy.- Upload necessary documentation into client portals to facilitate timely payments.- Collaborate with project managers to review invoice details prior to submission.- Follow up with clients to secure timely payments and manage accounts receivable aging reports.- Respond promptly to audit inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.- Support project cost analysis and assist in pricing additional work using company systems.- Prepare weekly productivity reports and metrics for ongoing commercial projects. Requirements - Minimum of 2-4 years of billing experience, preferably within the construction industry.- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with project management or accounting systems is a plus.- Excellent communication skills, coupled with strong organizational and analytical abilities.- High attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks independently.- Experience in billing functions such as collection, generating statements, and using computerized billing systems.- Ability to develop and apply project-specific labor billing rates, including insurance deductions and markups.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
