Summary:

At Meta, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence, focusing on innovative technologies that enhance how we perceive and interact with our environment. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in deep learning, computer vision, optimization, natural language processing, machine learning, reinforcement learning, computational statistics, applied mathematics, and security/privacy. Our internship programs present a unique chance to contribute to significant algorithmic developments and witness their real-world applications at an unprecedented scale. Internship durations range from twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks, with various start dates throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop cutting-edge algorithms and systems using various deep learning methodologies.
  2. Enhance the algorithms and systems by evaluating and improving efficiency, scalability, stability, fairness, security, and privacy.
  3. Conduct pioneering research to elevate the science and technology of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
  4. Collaborate with researchers and partners across disciplines, effectively communicating research objectives, progress, and outcomes.
  5. Publish and share research findings that can be integrated into Meta's product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently pursuing or in the process of completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  2. Must possess work authorization in the country of employment upon hiring and maintain valid work authorization during the internship.
  3. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, C, Java, or similar.
  4. Experience with deep learning frameworks like Pytorch or TensorFlow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Intention to return to degree program following internship completion.
  2. Demonstrated impactful contributions through grants, fellowships, patents, publications in leading workshops or conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, AAAI, etc.).
  3. Strong track record of self-motivated analytical problem-solving using quantitative strategies.
  4. Experience in constructing large-scale machine learning systems and training models with extensive datasets.
  5. Ability to communicate complex research simply and effectively.
  6. Demonstrated software engineering experience via internships, work roles, coding competitions, or notable contributions to open-source projects.
  7. Experience in cross-functional teamwork and effective communication.

Compensation Overview:

$7,650/month to $12,134/month + benefits.
