Maintenance Department - Store Support Associate

We're immediately hiring associates for our Maintenance department. Experienced Housekeepers, Janitors, Custodians, and Cleaning Crew Members are Needed!

Essential Duties in Maintenance Department (Custodian Associates) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to)

• Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor
• Ensures a safe and secure work environment
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers
• Replace burnt out light bulbs
• Refill restroom dispensers
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum carpets
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
• Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments

Must clean and sanitize work areas

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment.

Must be able to use job related equipment such as a stepping ladder, mop, and push carts

No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred

Previous experience as a Housekeeper, Janitor, or Custodian is preferred

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid

Requirements

• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
• Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
• Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
• Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management
• Ability to interact with all levels of management
• Must be able to operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor and scrub machine
• Possess a food handling license or the ability to acquire one
