Overview of Responsibilities

As a Meat Clerk, you will play an integral role in one of the most popular departments of our store! Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering outstanding customer service and assisting customers with their inquiries and special requests.
• Practicing safe food handling procedures and demonstrating comprehensive product knowledge.
• Receiving, storing, and preparing various types of meats and poultry.
• Unloading and transporting fresh, cured, and boxed meats.
• Ensuring product quality by counting and weighing items, and rotating stock to prevent aging.
• Following our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
• Maintaining a positive, customer-focused work environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Be dependable, reliable, and willing to perform additional tasks as needed.
• Exhibit friendly, outgoing behavior with a positive attitude toward customer interactions.
• Have the flexibility to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Communicate effectively and enjoy being part of a team.
• Maintain cleanliness in the department, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized.
• Adhere to safety, health, and company regulations.
• Stand for extended periods and walk up to 2 miles each shift.
• Lift and carry products ranging from 25 to 90 lbs.
• Operate a pallet jack to move heavy pallets and racks.

Pay Range
The compensation for this role ranges from $17.70 to $23.88 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
