Position Summary: The Bilingual Direct Care Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting youths as they navigate the exciting yet challenging transition from foster care. You will work closely with various service providers to help participants achieve their education and employment goals connected to their long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support youth in identifying and pursuing education and employment goals critical for their long-term success.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with youth and community partners.
  • Conduct individual meetings to assist youths in reaching short- and long-term personal goals.
  • Assist youth in securing employment, including preparing for interviews and job applications.
  • Provide workshops on educational and vocational topics and translate as needed during bilingual interactions.
  • Connect youth to community resources, advocating for their needs and ensuring necessary services are provided.

Documentation/Administrative Duties:

  • Track youth progress toward goals and ensure timely documentation of all data.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain effective communication with staff and providers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish required (reading, writing, and verbal).
  • A strong dedication to cultural competency and understanding of the unique challenges faced by at-risk youth.
  • Three years of experience working with at-risk youth, preferably including foster youth.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a sense of humor and patience in fast-paced situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.

Compensation: $32.16 - $34.39 per hour.

This position is on-site at our SF ILSP Center, open Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Remote work available on Fridays. Note that no hours are guaranteed as this is a part-time temporary role.
