Job Title: Animal Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Technician to join our team. The role requires working from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, starting as soon as possible for a duration of 26 weeks.
Responsibilities
Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and providing appropriate bedding.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of animal cages and enclosures.
Handle animals safely and humanely as part of routine care and research protocols.
Document and maintain accurate records of animal care and any deviations from standard procedures.
Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Essential Skills
Graduation from high school or GED.
Completion of training equivalent to the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician certification of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
Minimum of one year of animal care experience.
Strong knowledge and abilities essential for successful performance in animal care duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with biomedical research and animal models of disease.
Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification.
California Driving License.
Ability to work effectively in a high-throughput, dynamic, and physically demanding environment.
Ability to collaborate efficiently with team members.
Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory environment within a Vivarium. The position involves following Standard Operating Procedures and requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
