Overview of Responsibilities

As a Lead Cashier, you will supervise and support a team of cashiers while handling various operational tasks, ensuring an outstanding customer experience.

• Provide excellent customer service by actively engaging with cashiers and courtesy clerks at the register.
• Address customer assistance issues effectively and promptly at the point of sale.
• Assign tasks for store cleanliness, monitor cash register supplies, and maintain high standards in restrooms and parking areas.
• Monitor exit doors for security and loss prevention concerns.
• Schedule and ensure compliance with meal and rest breaks for the team according to company policies and state regulations.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of new cashiers, and follow protocol for performance management as needed.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Lead Cashier, you should meet the following requirements:

• At least 18 years old, and possess a high school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of cashier experience and leadership training.
• Dependable with a flexible schedule that accommodates business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor, with a positive attitude and the ability to effectively engage with customers.
• Proficient in operating front end equipment, such as registers and scanners.
• Strong communication skills; able to accept direction and thrive in a team-focused environment.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Able to lift/carry products weighing up to 30 lbs., and maneuver grocery carts with force up to 35 lbs.
• Attention to detail with strong numerical proficiency; capable of cash handling and basic math functions.

Pay Range

The hourly pay for this position is $17.70 - $23.88, based on experience and qualifications.
