Your Day at Lowe's

In your role as a checkout associate, you will ensure every customer has an enjoyable experience while handling payments and exchanges. Although your primary focus will be at the register, you may also assist with tasks in other departments, restocking shelves, or managing shopping carts when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
  • Help customers navigate the self-checkout area.
  • Accurately scan and bag items.
  • Manage cash register operations, payments, and exchanges.
  • Address customer queries attentively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe checkout area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and execute basic arithmetic.
  • Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Experience with computers for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs unassisted or over 15 lbs with assistance.
  • Comply with any sales-related licensing or registration required by state law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail and/or customer service.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings or training, or to assist nearby locations.

Working Conditions

Working conditions may vary by location, and you may encounter both indoor and outdoor weather conditions. You may experience temperature extremes, humidity, or wind, and be subject to noise from moving equipment.

Lifting methods can differ depending on the role's needs. Associates are expected to follow guidelines that restrict single lifting to a maximum of 75 pounds, utilizing team lifts for heavier items as necessary, and using powered equipment when trained to do so.

Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.05 per hour. The starting pay rate may vary based on several factors, including location, education, training, and experience.
