We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Errors and Omissions West Coast team. The Associate Underwriter/Underwriter will be responsible for assessing risks, underwriting errors and omissions insurance policies, and developing tailored insurance solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate is motivated to build and manage a book of profitable business while contributing to product development and special projects as requested. This individual must be a savvy, ambitious team player with a strong marketing persona.

Responsibilities
  • Review submissions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze exposure, loss history, and industry-specific risks for E&O coverage.
  • Apply underwriting guidelines to determine terms, conditions, and pricing.
Policy Lifecycle Management
  • Prepare quotes for new and renewal business.
  • Handle endorsements, invoicing accuracy, and transaction requests.
  • Maintain underwriting files and ensure compliance with internal processes.
Broker & Client Interaction
  • Communicate with brokers to obtain missing information and clarify underwriting decisions.
  • Negotiate coverage terms while balancing profitability and client needs.
Data & Documentation
  • Utilize underwriting systems and tools for rating and risk analysis.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of underwriting decisions and exposure details.
  • Work closely with senior underwriters and management for complex accounts.
  • Participate in marketing efforts and contribute to team goals.
  • Pursue professional development (e.g., CPCU, ARM, or E&O-specific certifications).
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience (E&O preferred)
  • Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance regulations, and policy structures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Team player that can provide creative solutions while working in a collaborative environment
  • Engaged in industry organizations and events
  • Strong broker relationship building skills
  • Can thrive in a remote work environment and travel as required

Compensation $90k - $150k (based on experience) plus bonus
