As a Retail Sales Associate, you will interact with pet parents and their pets, ensuring a positive shopping experience while upholding PetSmart's values. You will also contribute to store cleanliness and maintenance, ensuring a safe environment for pets and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with pet parents both in-store and online, answering their questions and providing support.
- Prepare online orders for easy in-store pick-up.
- Caring for store-owned pets, including feeding and maintaining clean habitats.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the store.
- Assist with pricing changes and product displays.
- Promote merchandise, services, and live pets to customers.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for associates and customers.
- Act quickly if a sick or injured pet is found in the store, providing necessary care.
- Participate in community events and store promotions.
- Follow Company Policies and Procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with poise.
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, and the ability to handle tools and equipment. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds is necessary; over 100 pounds may require teamwork.
- The work environment may include exposure to moving parts and animals. Noise levels can vary.
