Title: IT Desktop Support Specialist

Pay: $40.00 - $46.00 per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Location: Onsite in Redwood City 94065
Duration: 6 month contract

Overview

This role provides hands-on, white-glove desktop and endpoint support in a fast-paced corporate environment. The Desktop Support Specialist will deliver best-in-class technical support to employees, including senior leadership, while maintaining devices, applications, and collaboration technology. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, clear documentation practices, and comfort supporting both Windows and Mac environments in an onsite setting.

Job Description

  • Provide high-quality, in-person desktop support in a professional corporate environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for Windows and Mac devices.
  • Support mobile devices (iOS and Android) and peripherals such as printers and conference room equipment.
  • Assist with imaging, provisioning, and configuration of Mac and Windows systems.
  • Troubleshoot applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Zoom, Slack, and VPN tools.
  • Support and manage video conferencing systems, webinars, and large meetings.
  • Provide direct technical support to VP and C-level executives, both onsite and remotely.
  • Utilize remote support tools such as GoTo Assist when needed.
  • Maintain and update documentation so processes can be transitioned to desktop teams or the Global Service Desk.
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure smooth device management and issue resolution.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs when required.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and macOS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with desktop imaging and deployment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP).
  • Experience with enterprise tools including:
    • Active Directory
    • SCCM
    • JAMF Pro (Casper Suite)
    • Windows Server 2012/2016
  • Familiarity with tools such as Zoom, Cisco VPN, Virtual Machines, and encryption technologies.
  • Ability to support high-level executives with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working onsite five days per week in Redwood Shores, CA.
Education Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
