Position could be located at any of the locations listed, as vacancies occur. Incentives and bonuses are not available.

Salary range: NF-02 $36,409 per year ($17.45 PH) to $50,925 per year and NF-03 $40,736 to $69,860 per year.

Open and closing dates: 01/02/2026 to 03/31/2026.

Locations: Many vacancies in Fort Greely, AK; Fort Wainwright, AK; Anniston Army Depot, AL; and Fort Rucker, AL.

This job is open to U.S. citizens and non-U.S. nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of federal affiliation.

Duties

Performs a wide variety of technical support, focused primarily in the areas of recruitment and staffing.

  • Extends job offers, conducts pre-employment screenings and assists selectees during pre-employment processes.
  • Uses automated systems to track requests for personnel actions and continually updates status of assigned personnel actions.
  • Coordinates entrance on duty dates once pre-employment requirements are met, prepares new hire paperwork and provides new employee orientation briefings.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following:

NF-02 (Developmental) Possess six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, which demonstrates the ability to accomplish various human resources tasks and utilize human resource information systems. The experience and ability listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

NF-03 1. Possess six (6) months of work experience in a human resources profession which demonstrates the capability to perform a variety of recruitment and staffing. 2. Possess experience utilizing an automated recruitment and staffing system (i.e. USA Staffing, Avue, Resumix, PeopleSoft, etc.) 3. Possess prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 4. Ability to work with a variety of human resources information systems. The experience and ability listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Applicants will possess prior work experience in a NAF Human Resources Office in a recruitment and placement capacity.

This job is open to candidates who reside within local commuting area (50 miles) of any of the listed locations. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

COLA eligibility: NF-03 positions are eligible for cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). Positions must be located in Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. COLA eligibility and rates are subject to change without notice. COLA payments are in addition to advertised basic pay. Current COLA percentages: Fairbanks, Alaska 1.49%, Honolulu, Hawaii 8.64% and Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico 2.49%.
