Job description/Responsibilities: PER-DIEM
VARIOUS SHIFTS
APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE:
$28.71 - $34.27
Under general supervision, facilitates communication process between outside public, patients, and all operating departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
-Answers and dispatches incoming, outgoing, and inter-office phone calls utilizing a digital PBX, walkie-talkie and Voice & Tone pagers.
-Operates PBX console system in relaying and forwarding calls to patients and hospital staff.
-Follows proper procedure in paging authorized personnel through overhead paging system for: Code Blue, Stats, Hospital personnel/Medical Staff without paging devices, announcement of visiting hours.
-Handles communication of emergency information regarding fire, bomb threat, and disaster situations.
-Maintains on-call schedules for the following area: Administration, Anesthesia, CRNA's, Cath Lab, Hospitalists and IT.
-Maintains log and key control system for selected departments.
-Performs quality and accuracy review of registrations and HPF/ILE (Image Link Engine) scanning. Track errors and provides feedback to management.
-Provides information to patient visitors in front lobby when there are no Auxilians at reception desk.
Required Qualification: **Education
High school or equivalent education preferred.
Experience
Previous communications is preferred.
Skills
*Good interpersonal skills.
*Knowledge of basic customer service techniques.
*Excellent knowledge of the English language and ability to enunciate clearly and correctly.
