Part-Time Test Administrator

Pearson VUE is a part of Pearson, the world's leading learning company with extensive global reach. We are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time Test Administrator to join our team in Oakland, CA (1000 Broadway, Suite 470, Oakland CA 94607).

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour along with eligible accrued paid sick time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure secure exam delivery while providing excellent customer service in a friendly environment.
  • Check in candidates, validate their identification, and guide them through the exam process.
  • Proctor candidates during their tests to maintain a secure and fair testing environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as maintaining a clean testing area and sanitizing equipment after each exam.
  • Assist with other responsibilities as needed.

Schedule Requirements

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong teamwork and flexibility, with availability for a range of shifts any day from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including approximately two Saturdays per month.

This is strictly a part-time position with expected hours of 12 to 19 per week, though there may be opportunities for additional hours as needed. Shift schedules will be provided at least two weeks in advance.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in exam proctoring or invigilation is highly desired.
  • Flexibility in work hours and days is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) at a beginner to intermediate level.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and escort candidates within the testing area.
  • Physical capability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs with reasonable accommodation.
  • Comfortable working in a quiet testing environment, able to hear soft voices and see details from a distance.
