Your role and responsibilities

In your role as a Brand Technical Specialist, you will establish and nurture client relationships, understand their unique needs, and demonstrate how IBM's innovative solutions can address their challenges and add value to their business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building Credibility and Trust: Utilize consultative methods to facilitate the closure of complex deals, both internally and externally.

  • Developing Proposals: Craft tailored propositions that help clients tackle strategic and tactical business challenges using IBM's proven technology solutions.

  • Delivering Proof of Concepts: Educate clients through proof of concepts, simplifying complex technological subjects.

  • Defining and Detailing IBM Solutions: Design robust IBM solutions that integrate with and enhance clients' existing technology stacks.

  • Sales Prospecting: Implement IBM's sales methodology to identify new clients and explore opportunities for expansion within existing accounts, utilizing various outreach channels including cold calling.

  • Supporting Teams for Sales Opportunities: Assist your team of Business Development and technical specialists in identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities within your territory.

Opportunities are available in various locations including Austin, TX, Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, New York NY, Raleigh NC, San Francisco CA, Costa Mesa, CA and Washington DC.

Expect approximately 25% travel for client engagements and business needs.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Technical Education: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Client Focused: Ability to ask insightful questions and comprehend needs to effectively address business challenges.

  • Tech Savvy: Knowledgeable about technology trends and their application in solving business issues.

  • Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and adaptability to various communication styles.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Engaging verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that can influence and persuade.

  • Self-Starter: Initiative to work with clients independently and lead projects.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience or coursework in programming is advantageous.

  • Prior experience in client sales or services is preferred.
