Job Summary

• We are looking for an outstanding Senior Software Engineer who excels at building large-scale, enterprise-grade systems and is excited about the impact of AI on retail commerce. In this role, you will work across both backend and frontend domains, collaborating closely with product, sales, and AI platform teams to design, prototype, and launch influential conversational experiences for major retailers in Latin America. This position is perfect for an independent problem solver who enjoys overcoming deep technical challenges while engaging in high-impact product thinking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production-level conversational AI solutions for enterprise clients, ranging from quick prototypes to scalable systems.
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and enterprise partners to establish user journeys, performance objectives, and success metrics.
• Contribute to and leverage Connectly's AI platform, collaborating with engineering teams in San Francisco to integrate new features and help guide platform development.
• Test and innovate with AI-driven features, such as LLM-based agents, retrieval systems, and automation pipelines to enhance customer engagement continuously.
• Build and maintain backend systems using Python, AWS, Kafka, Postgres, and DynamoDB to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Establish and monitor AI performance metrics, utilizing data to optimize results and drive measurable business improvements.
• Plan and manage your workstream effectively, making well-considered trade-offs among deadlines, quality, and innovation.
• Mentor team members, participate in code reviews, and promote best engineering practices within a dynamic and distributed setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in hands-on software engineering roles.
• A proven history of building and scaling enterprise systems using Python, AWS, Kafka, Postgres, and/or DynamoDB.
• Experience in frontend engineering (React, TypeScript, etc.) is beneficial.
• Prior experience in developing or deploying conversational AI applications is strongly preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-focused environments, particularly in a startup or high-growth tech company.
