POSITION SUMMARY: The Purchasing Assistant will ensure smooth daily operations of On Lok's Purchasing
department by working under the close direction of senior personnel. He/She will be
managing the full purchase lifecycle from initiation until closing while exercising excellent
communication and documentation skills throughout the process.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Issue purchase orders to appropriate staff.
2. Enter Requisitions into ReQlogic.
3. Assists in the preparation of purchase orders to vendors.
4. Checks purchase orders for accuracy.
5. Complete and maintain all purchase requests.
6. Tracks purchases.
7. Work directly with A/P in processing invoices.
8. Resolve pricing disputes with vendors and A/P.
9. Receive all deliveries of supplies and equipment.
10. Distribute packages to the appropriate staff.
11. Resolve any discrepancies with shipments.
12. Ship packages.
13. Maintain centralized medical supply storeroom.
14. Issue supplies to all clinics, DHC's, Housing and Homecare.
15. Follow through with orders received.
16. Maintain all oxygen and equipment rentals.
17. Inventory all necessary equipment for all locations.
18. Maintain and update all data for all locations.
19. May research and negotiate with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
20. May assist with conducting surveys; compile statistics on annual consumption of certain products; prepares
reports; and/or maintaining of files and records.
21. May assist with reviewing and analyzing requisitions for commodities requested and determines if items specified
are best suited for department's needs.
22. Other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
1. High school diploma/GED required.
2. Two+ years of experience working in Purchasing, preferably in the healthcare setting.
3. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
4. Computer proficiency-especially with MS Word, Excel and purchasing software.
5. Excellent time management skills, ability to work independently and multi-task.
6. Strong communication skills and organizational required.
7. Demonstrates good judgement, resourcefulness, flexibility and problem solving.
8. Possesses sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural perspectives and the ability to work with diverse
populations.
9. Valid CA Driver's License in good standing with personal automobile and insurance.
10. Ability to work non-standard hours when needed.
