Arcadis is seeking a proactive and strategic AI Intern to join our Technical Advisory team for a 12-week summer placement from June to August, with a full-time weekly commitment[RG1] .
This internship offers a unique opportunity for a student currently studying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or a closely related discipline to contribute to the transformation of our Technical Advisory services through the adoption of AI tools and technologies. The successful candidate will gain deep exposure to our business, collaborate with industry experts, and deliver a business plan for the integration of at least two AI solutions that enhance efficiency and improve value for our clients from June to August, with a full-time weekly commitment
About Technical Advisory Services at Arcadis

Supporting clients in developing and implementing strategies to lower carbon emissions and meet sustainability targets. - Energy Efficiency:
Advising on solutions and technologies to optimize energy use, reduce operational costs, and improve environmental performance. - Technical Due Diligence & M&A Due Diligence:
Providing thorough assessment and analysis for acquisitions, investments, and divestitures to ensure informed decision-making and risk management. - Construction Claims & Disputes (Scheduling and Cost):
Assisting clients in resolving construction-related claims, disputes, and challenges regarding project scheduling and cost control. - Risk and Value Engineering:
Applying systematic approaches to maximize project and asset value while minimizing risks throughout the lifecycle.
Familiarity with one or more of these domains will help the intern contextualize AI opportunities and craft business plans that are relevant and impactful for our Technical Advisory Services
Role accountabilities: As an AI Intern you will immerse yourself in the core functions and services of the Technical Advisory team, participating in meetings, workshops, and client-facing activities to understand business processes and identify pain points. By engaging closely with both team members and clients, you'll develop insight into the practical challenges and opportunities within the sector.
- Develop robust business plans for the adoption of selected AI tools, including defining problem statements, opportunity analysis, and assessing technical feasibility
- Estimate potential business impact such as efficiency gains, ROI, and key performance indicators
- Propose implementation roadmaps and address change management considerations
- Present your findings and recommendations to Arcadis leadership and Technical Advisory teams, and incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine your proposals
A key focus of your role will be researching and evaluating emerging AI tools, platforms, and techniques relevant to consulting, engineering, and infrastructure advisory work. You'll assess opportunities for automation, data analytics, predictive modeling, and improved decision support, helping to identify and shortlist at least two high-potential AI solutions that could enhance the efficiency or quality of Technical Advisory services.
Throughout your internship, you will contribute to collaborative projects, support the preparation of key deliverables, and gain practical experience at the intersection of business, technology, and client services.
Qualifications & Experience: - Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- AI Knowledge: Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, industry trends, and the latest tools (e.g., machine learning platforms, generative AI, natural language processing).
- Technical Advisory Awareness: Understanding of technical consulting, engineering advisory, or infrastructure services is highly desirable.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00 / hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
