Maintenance Technician

Mizuho OSI is the leader in the markets for specialty surgery and patient positioning. The company's portfolio includes specialty surgical tables for procedure-specific approaches that improve patient outcomes in spine and orthopedic surgeries along with disposable and reusable surgical patient care products.

The Maintenance Technician performs work involving the maintenance and repair of the building structure for general upkeep. Duties may involve installation, carpentry, mechanical, repair of buildings, installing, aligning, and balancing equipment and/or office furniture. Other duties may also include repair and maintenance of manufacturing, building, and machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Support company goals and objectives.
• Operate various operations machinery, equipment and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance on operations machinery and equipment, according to specifications.
• Perform troubleshooting on operations machinery and equipment to determine cause of failure and fixes problem.
• Fabricate and repairs simple production tooling, equipment and various projects.
• Maintain overall site facilities.
• Perform special assignments assigned by supervisors. Lead role may supervise lower level non-exempt or temporary workers.
• As a Lead, acts as an extension of the Supervisor and carries out duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Understand Mizuho OSI's business objectives and the relationship between the Department and those objectives; to support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements, to maintain the services and quality levels set by Mizuho OSI, and to continually enable Mizuho OSI to be a great place to work.
• Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI's internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of the job. The duties of this job require the employee to stand and to use hands to manipulate very small objects and hand tools for long periods of time. The employee is required to walk and occasionally lift up to 45 pounds during the normal course of work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Within the Production Floor, the employee may be exposed to sharp objects, small tools, hot objects, adhesives, UV light, various testing equipment, isopropyl alcohol, soldering equipment, hi-pot testers and other electrical test equipment, hazardous waste, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Requires some directly related experience.
• Basic knowledge of blueprints and mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Basic working knowledge of machine tools, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, hand tools, troubleshooting.
• Flexibility to be on call 24/7 for emergency situations is required.
• Ability to work safely and according to OSHA safety regulations.

Hourly range: $27.88 to $31.73/hr.

Work Location: Union City, CA onsite.
