Porter / Painter
Location: Will serve SF/Marin + East Bay (Allure, Diablo Pines LP, 2, 6, 7, & 8, Ladera, Shadow, Skyline, 35 Tam, 833 Ashbury, 920 SFD, Aqua Terra, Aqua Vista, Harbor View, Noe Valley, Palmetto, and Ventana Villas).

In this entry-level role, you'll focus on groundskeeping, curb appeal, painting, and light maintenance support, playing a key role in first impressions and day-to-day community care.

What You'll Do
Grounds & Curb Appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of grounds, walkways, parking areas, and common spaces
- Perform daily property walks to identify trash, debris, or minor issues
- Support seasonal cleanup and landscaping efforts
- Ensure entryways, amenities, and shared spaces are clean and welcoming
Painting & Unit Support
- Perform interior and exterior painting for apartment homes and common areas
- Patch drywall, prep surfaces, and touch up paint as needed
- Assist with unit turns by supporting cleaning, prep, and final presentation
- Help ensure apartments meet move-in standards
Maintenance Support
- Assist Service Technicians and Service Managers with basic maintenance tasks
- Support preventative maintenance, inspections, and special projects
- Help maintain tools, supplies, and work areas
Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
- Follow safety guidelines and company procedures
- Represent Rutherford with professionalism and a service-minded attitude
What You Bring
- Entry-level role - prior maintenance or painting experience is a plus, but not required
- Painting experience or willingness to learn strongly preferred
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, walking properties, and working outdoors
- Attention to detail and pride in your work
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Willingness to travel regularly between East Bay and SF/Marin communities
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $25–$29
- Monday–Friday, generally 8am–5pm
- Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed for projects or support
- Employees required to travel for business purposes will be reimbursed for mileage in accordance with Company policy and applicable state and federal guidelines.
Driving Requirement
This position requires regular driving between communities. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License, a reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance in compliance with California state law.
