As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support guests and tenants with strong customer service and clear communication while reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts. What You'll Do:
+ Provide customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and mall location.
+ Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, corridors, entrances, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter, observing for unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
+ Maintain a visible presence to help to discourage unwanted activity, loitering, and disorderly conduct while supporting a positive shopping and guest experience.
+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespass situations, medical calls, and fire or alarm notifications.
+ Monitor access points and assist with directing foot traffic, managing line control during peak times, and supporting store personnel with customer-related concerns when requested.
+ Complete routine inspections of doors, gates, stairwells, restrooms, and other assigned areas, reporting maintenance issues and security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
+ Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems according to post orders and site procedures.
+ Communicate clearly with site contacts, management, and responding emergency services when needed, providing accurate information and updates.
+ Support loss prevention initiatives by observing and reporting suspicious behavior while maintaining a customer-service approach and following site policies for engagement and escalation.
+ Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific policies, including uniform standards, radio protocol, and required training and certification expectations.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
+ Access control and badge experience is preferred.
+ A guard card and/or license is preferred.
+ Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
+ Alarm panel experience is preferred.
+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
