WHAT you'll do:

The Senior Credit Analyst will primarily work on loans that support small businesses, small scale investors, child care, and faith organizations.

PROJECT AND PRIORITY MANAGEMENT

  • Works cooperatively in teams through the full life cycle of a loan.
  • Manages internal files and checklists, set-up and data entry into software systems, and communicates updates and requests to internal and external partners.
  • Maintains organized electronic files and accurate records for audits and compliance.
  • Works within established deadlines, follows through to meet them, and helps establish certain deadlines for loan teams.
  • Demonstrates ability to independently manage complex, competing priorities and communicate well.
  • Reviews construction disbursements and supports assessment of construction risk, including tracking project progress against budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinates due diligence efforts and ensures third-party reports (appraisals, environmental, construction budgets) are completed and reviewed by others.
ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS
  • Ensures tasks are completed to support industry, financial, and risk assessment analysis.
  • Efficiently builds an initial, comprehensive credit analysis that identifies questions to help evaluate the creditworthiness of commercial loan applications using multiple sources of information, including tax returns, financial statements (personal and audit), appraisals, credit reports, and cash flow analysis.
  • Discusses questions with more senior credit staff and/or Borrower if follow-up information is needed.
  • Presents recommendations to more senior credit staff for resolving situations and exercises independent judgement.
  • Independently prepares drafts of certain sections of the credit memo for more senior credit staff to review.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Consistently provides clear guidance and requests for information to external customers, with limited direction and on increasingly complex tasks.
  • Provides timely, clear, and complete customer service to internal requests for support and task completion.
  • Builds rapport and relationships both internally and externally sufficient to seamlessly accomplish the work and build trust with borrowers.
STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE
  • Successfully and efficiently completes work, without prompting.
  • Produces consistently high-quality work products with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Contributes independently to activities to support loan life cycle, taking on an appropriate share of loan assignments and workload to support team balance.
  • Learns about key issues that could impact relationships or loan transactions


INITIATIVE
  • Proactively advises more senior credit staff about key issues that could impact relationships or loan transactions.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to streamline processes and improve analytical tools.


OTHER
  • Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.
WHAT you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent related experience and 3 years of professional experience, with 2 years of relevant commercial lending experience preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish

  • Self-motivated, self-starter with a keen attention to detail, ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to learn new information quickly and apply such learnings
  • Strong technical aptitude to learn new systems, proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability and willingness to work beyond normal work hours, as needed
