As a Senior Backend Engineer on this team, youll focus on developing backend services, automation frameworks, and internal developer tools that improve the velocity and reliability of our entire platform./ppYoull play a key role in shaping how Kiddom engineers build, deploy, and observe systems at scale with an emphasis on clean, maintainable, and testable code written primarily in Python, and secondary exposure to GoLang./ph3You will.../h3ulliDesign, build, and maintain backend services and automation tooling primarily in Python, with opportunities to contribute to GoLang-based systems./liliDevelop and maintain internal APIs, asynchronous task frameworks, and services that improve developer productivity and platform reliability./liliCollaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams to understand their needs and build internal systems that streamline workflows./liliOptimize and maintain integrations with internal and external systems, including CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and developer infrastructure./liliOwn projects end-to-end from system design and architecture to implementation, deployment, and monitoring./liliDrive engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews, automated testing, and performance optimization./liliChampion modern backend practices including observability, scalability, and fault tolerance within the Tooling ecosystem./liliMentor junior engineers and contribute to shaping the future of Kiddoms backend and infrastructure practices./li/ulh3What were looking for.../h3ulliBS or MS in Computer Science or a related field/lili6+ years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining backend systems at scale/liliDeep expertise in Python, including experience building APIs and asynchronous processing systems/liliFamiliarity with GoLang, with an interest in contributing to Go-based services and tooling/liliStrong proficiency with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)/liliHands-on experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture/liliProduction experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform, etc.)/liliSolid understanding of design patterns, testing, and backend performance tuning/liliStrong debugging and system observability skills/liliCollaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with product managers, frontend teams, and other stakeholders/liliExcellent communication skills written, verbal, and architectural documentation/liliDesire to mentor and elevate team members technical skills/liliPassion for improving K12 education and building systems that serve teachers, students, and educational equity/li/ulp$160,000 - $200,000 a year/ppSalary range is dependent on geographic location, prior experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
