divh2Monitor Technician/h2pAs a member of a patient care team, and under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Monitor Technician is primarily responsible for the observation, interpretation, and monitoring of displayed cardiac rhythms. The Monitor Technician is responsible for reporting promptly and accurately any deviations from baseline./ppstrongEssential Responsibilities:/strong/pulliMonitors cardiac rhythms accurately./liliRemains present at monitor except for breaks or when coverage is arranged./liliObserves and reports deviations in rhythms from baseline promptly to the appropriate RN./liliAssists in identifying patient problems with Telemetry monitoring./liliReports and records data to the Registered Nurse./liliMounts monitor strips on documentation flow sheet for review by Registered Nurse./liliAssists in identifying supplies and equipment needed for Telemetry monitoring./liliPerforms other related Monitor Technician duties as necessary./liliSupervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities./li/ulpstrongBasic Qualifications:/strong/pulliSix (6) months experience required./liliPer the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived./liliHigh School Diploma/GED./liliMust have successfully completed a course acceptable to the Employer in EKG interpretation./liliBasic Life Support/li/ulpstrongAdditional Requirements:/strong/pulliBasic computer skills./liliKnowledge of medical terminology./liliMust be fully capable of detecting and differentiating abnormal cardiac rhythms as evidenced by a passing score on a cardiac monitoring/EKG test standardized by the Employer which will be taken on site in computerized format./liliMust demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills./liliMust have basic computer skills./liliMust possess good interpersonal and organizational skills./liliMust be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment./liliAlso refer to Position Specifications outlined in the appropriate collective bargaining agreement./li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulliClerical experience preferred./liliCardiac monitoring/EKG certificate preferred/li/ul/div
