Overview

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Coordinator with the Leadership Support Services office.

The Administrative Coordinator, under the direction of their manager, the Appellate Court Appointed Counsel Program fiscal services support supervisor, and the Temporary Assigned Judges Program administrative support supervisor will:

  • Support the Appellate Court Appointed Counsel Program (CAC Program) by performing a variety of tasks; including in the District Courts of Appeal Court Appointed Counsel System (DCACS) to produce data for leadership analysis, gather and distribute relevant case and claim information, support quarterly Appellate Indigent Defense Oversight Advisory Committee (AIDOAC) meetings, and other duties as identified.
  • Support the Temporary Assigned Judges Program by performing a variety of tasks; including in the Judicial Information System (JIS) to support assignment requests and claims submissions, tracking the processing of team responsibilities, and other duties as identified.


The Judicial Council

The Judicial Council of California is the policy setting body for the state court system and has constitutionally conferred statewide rule-making authority. This authority includes developing, advocating for, and allocating the judicial branch budget. A majority of Council members are California state justices and judges; however, the Council also includes lawyers, legislators, and court administrators.

The Judicial Council offers hybrid work arrangements for many positions. The successful candidate will be expected to work in person at the Judicial Councils San Francisco or Sacramento office at least two days a week, based on their office leaders direction, and reside in the area surrounding this location. To be eligible for Judicial Council employment and participation in the Judicial Councils Hybrid Work Program, a prospective or current employees primary residence/remote work location must be in the State of California and within a 150-mile driving radius of their assigned reporting location.

Qualifications

Three (3) years of administrative support experience, including some experience in area(s) of assignment (such as accounting, writing/editing, database/spreadsheets, direct support to upper management, etc.).

OR

Associates degree, preferably in area(s) of assignment, and one (1) year of administrative support experience, including some experience in area(s) of assignment (such as accounting, writing/editing, database/spreadsheets, direct support to upper management, etc.). Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

OR

One (1) year as an Administrative Specialist, Facilities Specialist, or Fiscal Services Specialist with the Judicial Council of California or one year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of an Administrative Specialist, Facilities Specialist, or Fiscal Services Specialist in a California superior court or California state-level government entity.
