If you are looking for an entry-level weekend position Academy of Art University encourages you to consider applying for the Campus Host position. Campus Hosts are the first point of contact for anyone visiting an Academy location. They are responsible for welcoming visitors and providing continuous support to our blended population of students, faculty and staff. This is a great way to get your foot in the door at the University and will enable you to learn about the school and develop skills for other potential opportunities.

This opportunity is Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure anyone entering an Academy building has valid identification and / or assist with issuing visitor passes as needed.
  • Provide directions regarding room locations.
  • Conduct intake of concerns reported and troubleshoot or escalate to Campus Safety management as needed.
  • Complete a walk-through of buildings as assigned each shift and open / close doors and turn on / off lights as instructed.
  • Serve as a Title IX mandatory reporter, which requires reporting information to the Title IX Officer as soon as they become aware of alleged discrimination or harassment on the basis of sex or gender. This includes, but is not limited to, alleged sexual assault.
  • Support with special events as needed.

Qualifications:
  • One year of professional customer service experience.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Have a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Be team-oriented and solutions-oriented.
  • Anticipate needs of others and take measures to provide effective support.
  • Time management skills are necessary. Be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency with important matters.
  • Possess basic computer knowledge in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Pay: $19.50/hour

This is a fixed term, part-time opportunity for Spring semester.
